Pretty pictures
May 30th, 2004
Another week, another selection:
- I know I posted a picture of an island from orbit last week, but this picture of Isla Fernandina, Galapagos is too colourful to ignore. (The high-resolution version - NB: 7MB jpeg file - which shows the much larger neighbouring island, is even more spectacular.)
- Vierville-sur-mer - better known as Omaha Beach about sixty years ago - remembers D-Day with a sand sculpture of soldiers landing at the beach.
- Pixeldiva posted some lovely images of Terminal 2F at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport. The last two, emphasising the sheer scale and symmetry of the terminal, are particularly striking.
- A couple of striking landscapes from deviantART: Isolation by lostgirl captures that mood nicely, whereas Ocean spider by foureyes shows a Texas beach which appears to be guarded by a particularly large arachnid.
- Over at frangipani, Martine has posted some marvellous pictures from the Hase Dera temple at Kamakura.
