As I mentioned in a later post, I did find a cheap copy of the pilot so I watched it last night (and enjoyed it a lot.) The first two episodes of the first season proper were shown earlier this evening, and for my money they easily maintained the standard set by the pilot.

As it happened I watched '33' when it was streamed online back when the show first aired; despite my knowing what was going to happen to a certain rogue liner when it caught up with the feet the episode was still well worth watching. Apart from anything else, having seen the pilot I understood what was going on with Baltar and the implications of the two Boomers, which added greatly to the fun.

I can see I'm going to enjoy this show quite a bit.

Rent the pilot movie (broadcast in the U.S. as a miniseries)--it's available everywhere.

You have all week.

I wish I were seeing it for the first time.

And find "Thank You for Smoking." It's a good book.
