Lost in Translation fan site
I'm indebted to madkevin for pointing me in the direction of areyouawake.org, a Lost in Translation fan site.
Of particular interest are a transcription (including translations of the Japanese dialogue) of the scene where Bob has to take direction from a Japanese director via a translator, and a post which prompted a long discussion thread on the vital question of what, exactly, Bob whispered to Charlotte just before they parted. (For what it's worth, my theory is that it wasn't his phone number/email address or anything else implying that they should keep in touch; I go with the theory that he was offering her some advice about how to communicate with her husband and save her marriage.)
Reading areyouawake.org has made me want to go out and see Lost in Translation again ASAP. If I don't post tomorrow night, it'll probably be because I'm at the cinema.
