Olympus Mons

The European Space Agency's Mars Express probe has sent back some spectacular images of Olympus Mons, the solar system's largest known volcano. (When I say "biggest", I'm talking three times the height of Mount Everest. That's one seriously big volcano.)

I know the small-scale work, like this picture taken by NASA's Spirit rover of an "unusually flaky rock called Mimi" is equally important, but somehow I can't get as excited about the small stuff.
